Do I need new bolts to install this, or can I reuse the originals?
Reuse your stock header bolts—this gasket is designed around OEM bolt spacing and clamp load. If your bolts are stripped or corroded, grab a new set, but the gasket itself doesn't require any special fasteners.
Should I clean or prep the sealing surfaces before dropping this in?
Yes. Scrape any old gasket debris and carbon off the manifold flange and cylinder head with a gasket scraper. Wipe both surfaces clean with a rag—old material prevents a tight seal. Fresh aluminum-to-metal contact is what makes this work.
Can I reuse this gasket if I pull the header back off later?
Not reliably. Once compressed under bolt load, aluminum gaskets lose their sealing capacity. Plan to replace it if you pull the manifold again. Grabbing a fresh one is cheap insurance against exhaust leaks.
