Reusing your factory header bolts is fine if they're not stripped or corroded. If you're pulling an old gasket that's stuck hard, consider new bolts—they're cheap insurance against cross-threading into the head.
Should I use any sealant or adhesive on this gasket before bolting it down?
No sealant needed. This gasket is designed to seal dry when torqued properly to factory spec. Just install it flat and snug the bolts in a cross pattern to avoid warping.
What if my header bolts won't come loose without damaging them?
Soak the bolt heads with penetrating oil for 15–20 minutes before you start. Heat from a heat gun or torch on the manifold (not directly on bolts) helps break corrosion free. Go slow—a snapped bolt in the head is a bad day.
