Frequently Asked Questions
Will I need to buy new hoses or connectors when I install this?
Check your existing hose fittings and ports on the old pump first. Many installs reuse the original hoses—but if yours are cracked or brittle, you may want fresh tubing. Bring the old pump to the parts counter or measure the connector diameter before ordering.
Do I need to drain the washer fluid reservoir before swapping the pump?
Yes. Empty the reservoir completely before removal to avoid spilling fluid into the engine bay or underneath the vehicle. Siphon or drain through the filler cap, then disconnect the old pump. This also gives you a chance to inspect the reservoir for sediment or contamination.
What if the pump doesn't spray when I plug it in?
Air locks happen. Fill the reservoir, turn on the wipers, activate the washer spray, and let it run for 10–15 seconds to purge air from the lines. If fluid still doesn't flow, check your hoses for cracks or disconnects, and confirm the spray nozzles aren't clogged. If those are clear, test power at the pump connector with a multimeter.
