Do I need any gaskets or sealing compound before installation?
The sensor threads directly into the exhaust manifold or pipe. Most installations don't require additional sealant — the sensor seat creates its own seal. If your manifold threads show damage, apply a thin coat of high-temp thread sealant before threading in.
Can I install this myself, or do I need a scan tool afterward?
Installation is straightforward — unplug the old sensor, unbolt it, thread the new one in, and reconnect the wiring harness. No scan tool needed. Some vehicles may throw a pending code until the system re-learns; this clears on its own after a few drive cycles.
