Do I need fasteners to install this, or does it come with hardware?
Hardware is not included. Use the existing fasteners from your old handle — they'll fit the pre-drilled mounting tabs. If yours are corroded or missing, you'll need standard interior trim screws (specific size varies by door panel design).
Will this fit both sides of the door, or is it left/right specific?
This is right rear only. The mounting tabs and pull angle are engineered for the right side. Confirm your door position and side before checkout — ordering the wrong side means a return trip.
Can I just swap this in, or does the door panel need to come off?
The door panel stays on. You'll access the handle from inside the door cavity — remove the interior trim panel trim if needed to reach the mounting bolts from the back. Full panel removal is not required for most installs.
