Autotech offers the highest quality line of Cross-Drilled Brake Rotors for watercooled Volkswagens. Cross-drilled rotors are an excellent way to get increased braking performance from your VW. At Autotech, we start with high quality German-made rotors manufactured by suppliers to the VW factory. Each rotor is then precision machined on a CNC machining center.The hole patterns used are designed to give optimum cooling, but do not sacrifice durability, nor do they significantly reduce swept area. Lots of holes may look great, but every hole takes away a small amount of braking surface (swept area). Too many holes creates a meaningful loss of swept area and ultimate braking power, not to mention a loss of overall strength. Each hole in a SportTuned Rotor is radiused to prevent pad galling, and the radius depth is the set to the rotor's wear limit. In addition, front rotors are then slotted for improved gas venting and pad cleaning. Finally, a cadmium plating is applied to military standards. We design our SportTuned components with all-around performance in mind. In keeping with this philosophy, we include Mintex Red Box brake pads with each SportTuned Rotor Kit, since Red Box pads are an excellent blend of performance, wear and drivability. For the ultimate in braking power, or if you are especially hard on your car's brakes, you may wish to consider upgrading to Mintex C-TECH Fast Road pads when ordering your SportTuned Rotors, Your sales representative can handle this for you. You will merely pay the difference in price between the Red Box and C-TECH pads for your car application added to the regular kit price. Autotech sells its SportTuned Rotors as a set including two rotors and Mintex Red Box Performance Brake Pads. All front rotor kits include new disc retaining screws where applicable. Rear rotor kits include new grease seals or disc retaining screws where applicable. There are other cross-drilled rotors on the market, but they're not SportTuned!
