Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need special tools or gasket sealant to install this?
Basic hand tools and a gasket scraper are all you need. Whether you use sealant depends on your header's sealing surface condition — clean mating surfaces alone often seal fine with a fresh aluminum gasket, but a light coat of high-temp gasket compound won't hurt.
Can I reuse my old header bolts?
Only if they're in good condition with no stripped threads or permanent deformation. Header bolts see heavy thermal cycling, so if there's any doubt, replace them with new ones rated for exhaust temps. Torque spec is in your vehicle's service manual.
What if my new gasket leaks after install?
Check that header bolts are torqued evenly and to spec — uneven clamping is the most common cause. If leaking persists, your header mating surface may be warped or damaged. A straightedge test against the mounting face will confirm this before you blame the gasket.
