Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need new refrigerant oil when I swap this in?
Not necessarily—if your old condenser had minimal contamination, flushing the lines and topping up with fresh PAG oil is usually enough. If the system failed catastrophically, swap the entire charge. Your mechanic will know after they pull it and inspect.
Will I need new hoses or fittings?
The mounting and connection points match factory spec, so your existing hoses will fit. Inspect the rubber for cracks or leaks before reinstalling—if they look questionable, replace them at the same time since you're already in there.
Can I install this myself with basic tools?
You'll need a socket set, a wrench, and ideally a AC recovery machine to pull the old refrigerant safely—that part requires EPA certification in most states. Condenser removal and install is straightforward once the system is evacuated. If you're not certified, have a shop handle the refrigerant side.
