Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need new bolts or studs when I install this gasket?
Bolts and studs are not included with this gasket. Reuse your factory header bolts if they're in good condition — they should be torqued down evenly to seat the gasket properly. If any bolts are stripped or damaged, grab a replacement bolt set before you install.
Should I use any sealant or cleaner on the gasket before installation?
This is a solid aluminum gasket that seals mechanically — no additional sealant needed. Clean both the header face and manifold surface with a wire brush or gasket scraper to remove old gasket material and carbon buildup. Bolt it down and you're set.
What if the gasket doesn't seal right after installation?
If you're getting exhaust leaks, the most common cause is uneven bolt torque or debris left on the sealing surfaces. Loosen all bolts, clean both surfaces again thoroughly, and retorque in a cross pattern. Also verify your header bolts aren't stripped — worn threads won't clamp the gasket down evenly.
