Will I need special tools to install this?
You'll want an oxygen sensor socket or wrench to access and remove the old unit — the sensor sits deep in the exhaust manifold. Standard hand tools are all you need beyond that. Refer to your vehicle's service manual for torque specs and any specific precautions.
Do I need to clear the check engine light myself after installation?
The light should clear on its own after 50–100 miles of normal driving once the new sensor begins sending proper readings. If it persists, a scanner can force a manual clear, but the system will re-scan on its own pretty quickly.
Is this sensor for a catalytic converter model or upstream?
This is the front (upstream) sensor — the one that sits before the catalytic converter and controls fuel trim. If you need the rear (post-catalyst) sensor, that's a different part.
