At Autotech, we start with high quality German-made rotors manufactured by suppliers to the VW factory. Each rotor is then precision machined on a CNC machining center. The hole patterns used are designed to give optimum cooling, but do not sacrifice durability, nor do they significantly reduce swept area. Lots of holes may look great, but every hole takes away a small amount of braking surface (swept area). Too many holes creates a meaningful loss of swept area and ultimate braking power, not to mention a loss of overall strength.
